CIA names the ‘Dark Prince’ to run Iran operations
June 6, 2017 - 10:7
The CIA has named Michael D’Andrea as head of its Iran operations, an appointment that is the first major sign that the Trump administration is invoking the hard line the president took against Iran, New York Times reported on Friday.
He is known as the Dark Prince, the nickname he earned as the CIA officer who oversaw the hunt for Osama bin Laden and the American drone strike campaign that killed thousands of militants and hundreds of civilians.
